Project Engineer - Primary Engineering

Job Description

Role Overview:As an Engineering authority for projects/tenders with low to medium complexity, you will be responsible for executing complete engineering assignments on small, medium, or large projects/tenders cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications and quality standards. Your main tasks will include preparing Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, drawings, Cable routings, Bill of materials, RFQs, vetting of vendor offers, engineering hours estimation, visit to project sites, technical risk assessment, and opportunity evaluation. Additionally, you will coordinate with various teams such as Engineering Manager, Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Project managers, SCM, Secondary and civil/steel design functions, consultants, end customers, to provide required support in each Project/Tender.Key Responsibilities:- Handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects- Creating Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, drawings, Cable routings, Cable tray routings, Clearance drawings, etc- Understanding auxiliary design aspects of substations like LVAC/LVDC supplies, Cable sizing, Battery & Battery Charger Sizing, etc- Verifying technical data sheets of primary equipment and evaluating vendor offers- Participating in FAT/SAT of primary equipment and conducting technical risk and opportunity assessment- Providing innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort and continuously improving quality systems- Ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelinesQualifications Required:- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering- 7 to 10 years of experience in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial)- Proficiency in CAD design tools (BIM Tools, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation/AutoCAD, AutoCAD REVIT, 3D competence)- Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEEE, IEC, etc- Excellent English speaker with good communication skills- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and challenge traditional solutions- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality digital solutions- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language(Note: The additional details of the company were not present in the provided job description.)
