Role Overview:The Unified Communications Engineering team at Comcast is seeking an SDET Engineer II who is dedicated to building high-quality and reliable systems at scale. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of key features and services, influencing design decisions, and developing automation to prevent defects from reaching production. Your collaboration with engineering, product, and operations teams will be crucial in ensuring that software is production-ready, observable, and resilient.Key Responsibilities:- Own quality for assigned features and services throughout the design to production process- Analyze user stories and system designs to define test strategy, coverage, and risk areas- Conduct deep functional and exploratory testing to validate real-world behavior- Identify, document, track, and validate defects with clear reproduction steps and timely closure- Develop and maintain scalable UI and API automation frameworks- Write, execute, and maintain automation scripts to enhance coverage and reduce manual effort- Collaborate with developers to debug issues and validate fixes- Participate in release readiness, regression testing, and post-release validation- Provide production support and contribute to root cause analysis and long-term fixes- Communicate risks, dependencies, and quality status clearly to stakeholdersQualifications Required:- Test Automation: Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, TestNG- API Testing Tools: Experience with Postman, Bruno- Programming Languages: Strong skills in Java- Ticketing Tool: Familiarity with JIRA- Testing Practices: Knowledge of functional testing, regression testing, exploratory testing- CI/CD & DevOps: Previous experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines- Good to have: Exposure to AI/ML concepts or intelligent testing approachesAdditional Company Details:The Unified Communications Engineering team at Comcast focuses on continuous improvement through modern DevSecOps practices, aiming to provide the most reliable, secure, and high-quality experience to customers.
