Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Mechanical Engineering

Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer at Barry-Wehmiller, you will play a vital role in providing engineering support to various divisions within the organization. Your responsibilities will include:- Design modifications of existing machines- Basic engineering calculations- Detail drawings and Bill of Materials release using SolidWorks (2018 & above)/EPDM and Infor XA applications as per client standards- Performing concept/design/manufacturing reviews and participating in testing, safety, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting reviews with customers- Conducting risk assessments of new designs using DFMEA or similar techniques- Demonstrating sound knowledge in mechanical engineering design principles- Possessing excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes- Having extensive knowledge in engineering calculations- Experience in the calculation and selection of commercial components such as bearings, gearbox, couplings, motors, pneumatics/hydraulic components, linear/rotary actuators, etc.- Knowledge of electrical components, sensors, encoders, etc.- Experience in handling large assemblies using SolidWorks (2018 & above)- Understanding the principles of operation of industrial machinery such as Printing, Packaging and Converting Machines, Textile machines, Paper machines, and discrete product machinery- Experience in material selection based on functional requirements and application of manufactured and commercial components of industrial machinery and equipment- Familiarity with FEA using SolidWorks simulation (experience in structural and dynamic analysis using ANSYS is an added advantage)- Experience in creating and updating functional specifications of machines- Expertise in replacement of obsolete commercial components by maintaining Form, Fit, and Functions of the existing design of the machines- Demonstrating technical problem-solving skills and providing out-of-the-box solutions for complex problems- Mandatory CAD modeling and detailing using SolidWorks, experience in Creo and UG is an added advantage- Excellent knowledge in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis- Experience in Value Engineering and Cost Optimization using DFX or similar techniques- Proficiency in SolidWorks version 2018 & above, AutoCAD, Creo (preferable), and MS Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)- Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills in English- Travel: The candidate will be required to travel to other divisions of Barry-Wehmiller in the US and Europe in the short term for training and project support activitiesMoreover, Barry-Wehmiller offers a high-impact, future-focused environment where long-term stability meets start-up agility.
