Role Overview:As a Senior Procurement Specialist at McDermott, you will utilize best practices and in-depth knowledge to enhance the Procurement discipline within the organization. You will serve as a valuable resource for colleagues with less experience, sharing your expertise in both theory and practice related to Procurement. Your role involves resolving complex problems and leveraging your discipline-specific knowledge to enhance products or services. You will have a significant impact on various customer, operational, project, or service activities within the Procurement team and other related teams, ensuring adherence to guidelines and policies.Key Responsibilities:- Take ownership of the Supply Chain function within the Project Management Team- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement project requirements, maintaining a crucial interface with clients and vendors to ensure timely and budget-compliant project milestones- Lead the procurement strategy within the Project Management Team, incorporating all contract requirements and negotiating to include necessary Project flow-down conditions for risk mitigation- Develop a comprehensive Project Procurement execution plan with the support of the supply chain function, encompassing purchasing, expediting, logistics, communication, and project objectives- Identify and address client needs related to all supply chain/procurement requirements, serving as the primary point of contact with clients for such needs- Timely identification of issues and development of corrective action plans for resolution- Participation in resolving disputes, claims, and performance matters- Ensure effective and timely status reporting, representing the supply chain management function in project team meetings- Maintain auditable procurement files and implement project filing and record retention procedures- Ensure project schedule requirements are met- Oversee project supply chain management activities- Ensure deliverable quality meets internal and external customer expectations- Interface with peers and stakeholders to facilitate effective information exchange- Lead project reviews and share lessons learned with relevant parties- Maintain approval cycles and manage procurement packages, including budget and cost monitoring- Manage disputes and claims with vendors, involving relevant stakeholders- Provide independent advice to the Project Management Team during project execution- Support the SCM Function and Reporting Manager as directedQualifications:- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline, or HSD/GED/IGCSE with 6 years of relevant experience- 6-10 years of relevant experience in Procurement- Professional Procurement qualification is preferred- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and prioritize work effectively- Capable of managing multiple procurement packages within tight timelines and across multiple projects- Act as a mentor for colleagues with less experience- Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of situations- Interpret customer needs, assess requirements, and provide solutions to non-standard requests- Utilize best practices and internal/external business knowledge to enhance products/services- Monitor and control costs within the scope of work- Solve moderately complex problems and offer new perspectives on solutions- Manage time effectively to meet targets and develop short-term work plans- Promote teamwork, coach, and guide others- Knowledge of database software such as SPMAT or Oracle is preferred(Note: The additional details about the company have been omitted as they were not explicitly provided in the job description) Role Overview:As a Senior Procurement Specialist at McDermott, you will utilize best practices and in-depth knowledge to enhance the Procurement discipline within the organization.
