Job Description

Role Overview:You will be joining the Connectivity Enabled Solutions Team in the Connectivity Department within the CAT Digital organization at Caterpillar Inc. Your role will involve building common datasets to support Connectivity initiatives, streamlining data reporting through various sources, enhancing business logic, delivering visualized data for internal and external users, and building solutions to monitor and improve telematics data quality. You will be contributing to design, development, code review, deployment, and preparing technical design documents based on business requirements. Additionally, you will work on new feature design, development, and testing, ensuring overall code quality and velocity, and addressing critical production issues in a timely manner.Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to design, development, code review, and deployment- Understand business requirements for new features, gather and refine requirements, and recommend changes- Independently perform programming, project management, and development assignments- Prepare technical design documents based on business requirements- Design and build new features using out-of-the-box components and customizations to meet business needs- Work on complex application and technical problem resolution- Lead development and unit/integration testing of new features for the scrum team- Conduct code reviews, performance assessments, and architecture discussions- Ensure teams overall code quality and velocity- Collaborate with the support team to address critical production issuesQualifications Required:- Educational Background: A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required. A masters degree in computer science or a related field is preferred- Python Development: 8 years of experience in designing and developing software applications in Java, or at least 4 years of experience in Java with a masters degree in computer science or a related field- API: 6 years of experience designing, building, and integrating Rest API, SOAP API- Database Management: 5 years of experience in database design, development, and administration- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, etc.- Cloud Database Services: 3 years of experience with cloud-based database services, particularly within AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments- Web Development Skills: 2 years of experience coding in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Web Components- Front-End Development: 3 years of experience integrating customer-facing applications using front-end frameworks and libraries such as Angular, React, Polymer, or Vue- Familiarity with design patterns is essential(Note: Additional details about the company were not included in the provided job description.)
