Software Development Delivery Manager

Job Description

As the leader of the Foundational Services (FS) User Profile product team at Ford Motor Company, you will be responsible for managing the global retail User Profile and Preferences utilized by numerous applications worldwide. Your role involves making significant investments in emerging technologies and agile business practices to enhance account management, global mobile solutions, and the overall vehicle ownership experience for customers. If you are passionate about driving innovation in transportation, this role offers a visionary opportunity to join our team.**Key Responsibilities:**- Lead and mentor a team of 6 software engineers, fostering a culture of software craftsmanship and developing future technical leaders.- Provide cross-functional technical leadership in business sessions to align User Profile product development with organizational goals.- Oversee the development and deployment of scalable multi-cloud SpringBoot/Java API microservices using Azure Container Apps, Azure services, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).- Champion modern software engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).- Refactor and optimize existing API/microservices for simplification, efficiency, and long-term maintainability.- Define comprehensive API load and performance strategies in collaboration with the load and performance team.- Instill Clean Code principles and ensure code quality throughout the software development lifecycle.- Foster collaborative development using SonarQube for continuous code quality analysis and improvement.- Leverage DevOps tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, Checkmarx, and GitHub for software deployment and lifecycle management.- Drive agile development practices within a fast-paced environment to optimize workflow transparency and continuous delivery.**Qualifications Required:**- Bachelors degree in computer science or a closely related engineering discipline.- 5 years of progressive experience in software engineering in complex enterprise-level environments.- 3 years of hands-on development experience with Java and the Spring Boot framework.- Technical leadership experience within Agile development teams, mentoring and upskilling software engineers.- Expertise in Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), CI/CD, Refactoring, Clean Code principles, and collaborative programming.- Experience in designing, developing, and deploying large-scale global APIs on cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).- Proficiency in microservices architecture, optimizing for resiliency, scalability, and performance.- Knowledge of the full API lifecycle, including versioning and documentation.- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools for automation, quality assurance, and security.The above qualifications are required for the position.
