Job Description

    In this role at Tekion, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines using SQL and other relevant technologies. Your expertise in SQL querying and proficiency in data pipeline with DBT will be crucial in optimizing and streamlining data workflows to ensure efficiency and scalability. As a Staff Data Engineer, you will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable solutions. Your role will also involve mentoring junior team members and staying updated with industry trends in SQL and data engineering.**Key Responsibilities:**- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines with Python and ETL processes using SQL and other relevant technologies.- Optimize and streamline data workflows to ensure efficiency and scalability.- Develop complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks.- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable solutions.- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on SQL best practices and data visualization techniques.- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in SQL & data engineering.**Qualifications Required:**- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or a related role.- Expertise in SQL querying, performance tuning, and database design principles.- Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Athena, Clickhouse).- Solid understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data integration techniques.- Proven track record of delivering scalable and efficient data solutions.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.- Experience in real-time data processing is a plus.- Strong proficiency in Python programming and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy).- Experience in building & maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business requirements and ensure data integrity.- Experience in implementing various data design patterns for Data Warehouses (Eg: Medallion architecture)At Tekion, we are committed to being an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace for all.
