Job Description

*We are recruiting for the Assistant Manager position in the UK Individual (Private Client) Tax team with experience in various compliance and consulting tasks related to UK Individual Income Tax on one or more client engagements. Working as an Assistant Manager in this team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Sign Tax Returns and delivering a high-quality service within the agreed time frames.
  • Interface with clients and communicate complex tax matters to client in a manner client can understand as well as produce complex UK tax computations and returns
  • Signing of ERI / CGT calc and other related calcs
  • Ensuring clients are provided with up to date information on relevant tax developments
  • Day to day contact with HMRC
  • Being the day to day contact for allocated clients
  • Management of compliance processes for international assignees
  • Advising on risk issues relevant to client and assisting in mitigating these
  • Work in coordination with Tax Processing Support team to know the additional tasks that are performed outside of the Core Compliance and have hands on the tasks.
  • Consider and highlight further opportunities to develop new work with existing and new clients
  • Provide day to day support to Managers to assist with the delivery of tax computations and client service.
  • Ability to analyse/research and review Super Complex cases as well.
  • An in depth, up to date, knowledge of taxation and the ability to deal with complex tax issues
  • Draft client correspondence documents (emails, letters, reports etc.) at relevant points throughout the compliance cycle. Participating in telephone calls with clients, other KPMG team members and Client Service Teams.
  • Being proactive in owning/managing your client allocation & flexible in working arrangements.
  • Possess research skills and critical thinking to identify issues and develop conclusion
  • Manage the budget as per UK Tax Returns
  • Provide coaching and support to junior team members in how to use the Technology tools
  • Performing other ad hoc tax compliance related activities as and when required.
  • Follow firm s best practice and policy around the compliance process.
  • Be part of Resource Exchange program to know the other SL. Collaborate and support other BU during their busy period.

, *Mandatory Skills
  • Minimum Master s Degree from a reputable university with excellent academic result, majoring in accounting or finance or technology or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 6 - 8 years of relevant professional experience in UK Individual / Private Client Tax Compliance with 1-2 years spent in people development & performance management, preferably in a Big 4 consulting firm
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including MS Outlook and Excel
  • ATT qualification would be an advantage.
