Job Description

* The role of test manager is intended to be a key contributor to the creation and organic growth of this capability and will be expected have strong leadership and mentoring skills and will be responsible to help develop and mentor junior members of the team. He will look to drive overall Android Set top box related testing to raise issues during development including responsibility of executing Automated test cases and create Python automation scripts to verify Set top box (DTH, Android etc) functionality, security, and overall usability.Key focus area for this role will be:

  • Validate and test STB software as per check list automated & manually.
  • Review and Understand software Requirements/ Specifications to meet the customer intended purpose
  • Maintain strong relationships with participating teams to ensure effective engagement practices.
  • Understand system implementation, Collaborate and work with Project lead and Business team to be validated the solution/implementation
  • Author detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test suites and test cases
  • Identify document the defects observed during Test execution, Verify the defects are fixed appropriately.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when defects are resolved
  • Regularly communicate with teams answering technical, update project test status and prioritization of bugs
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies

  • Generate and publish test results & comprehensive test reports regularly to management
  • Collaborate with peer testers and developers to improve testing processes

  • Gradate Engineer (B.E./B.Tech 4yrs) Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunication
  • 5-7 years of experience in DTH & Android Set top box software & hardware and Android devices.
  • Strong knowledge of Android frameworks and testing platforms & knowledge of WiFi & Bluetooth
  • Experience in test automation and Python language programming. Plan and schedule tests using test automation.
  • Excellent communication skill in both English and Hindi.
  • Knowledge of MS excel & Project
  • Knowledge of DVB specifications and worked on IPTV/Cable/Satellite/Terrestrial bases STBs
  • Complete knowledge of all the features available in STB and the architecture of the STB, EPG, VoD & PVR
  • Good understanding of the head-end setup
