Job Description

    Roles and ResponsibilitiesCopy Editor Profile and eligibilityCopy Editor will be responsible for an initial round of proofreading to ensure that written text is concise, consistent and both grammatically and factually correct. Copy Editor will also ensure that each sentence is easy to read and that concepts expressed are in a logical, sequential manner. Copy Editor will also be checking that the illustrations and captions are correct. Copy editor will adhere to in-house style guides and TRAIs preferred usage and the spelling of certain words. Copy Editor is expected to read, research, brainstorm, and rephrase written material given to him. Candidate needs to review & edit written articles for grammar, verbiage, comprehensibility in order to make them error free and impressive to read.Copy Editor has to ensure that material is clear, consistent, complete and credible, and that text is well written, grammatically correct and accessible. Copy Editor will take the initial material, or the copy, and make it ready for publication by correcting spelling, grammar and layout (proofreading), checking content, impose consistent styles and reword or rewrite.Copy editors must have: excellent written English, including good spelling and grammar * a meticulous approach to their work and an eye for detail the ability to maintain high-quality work while meeting tight deadlinese a love of and feel for language.The job would frequently require working under intense deadline pressure without compromising standards.Desired qualification: Masters in English Language & Literature; Humanities & Social Sciences upwards.Experience : At least 4 years preferably within a publishing environment,
