Job Description

    As the Modern Trade Head in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) company, your main responsibilities would include:- Developing and implementing modern trade strategies: You would be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for modern trade channels such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, and e-commerce platforms. This would involve analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities for growth, and establishing partnerships with key retailers.- Building and managing relationships with retailers: You would need to build strong relationships with key retailers, negotiate trade terms, and ensure that products are merchandised effectively in-store. You would also be responsible for managing sales teams that are dedicated to modern trade channels.- Managing budgets and sales targets: You would be responsible for managing budgets for modern trade channels and ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded. This would involve monitoring sales performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.- Ensuring brand visibility and market share: You would need to ensure that your companys brands are highly visible in modern trade channels and that they maintain a strong market share. This would involve working closely with the marketing team to develop effective brand campaigns and promotions.- Conducting market research and analysis: You would need to conduct regular market research and analysis to stay informed about market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity. This information would be used to inform product development, pricing strategies, and sales tactics.- Managing a team: You would be responsible for managing a team of sales professionals who are focused on modern trade channels.
