Lead Designer

Job Description

As the Design Head for the footwear design vertical at Cult Sport, your role will involve defining seasonal design themes, color palettes, and material stories. You will lead the design and development of footwear collections, analyze trends, collaborate cross-functionally, oversee CAD development, interact with vendors, and provide team leadership.Key Responsibilities:- Define seasonal design themes, color palettes, and material stories aligned with brand positioning and consumer trends.- Lead the design and development of footwear collections from concept sketches to final prototypes.- Utilize trend forecasting platforms to ensure trend-right collections.- Collaborate with marketing, content, and product development teams for design consistency.- Oversee the creation of 2D CADs and detailed tech packs for sampling and production.- Demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design tools for concept visualization.- Liaise with factories, vendors, and sampling teams to ensure timely prototype development.- Manage and mentor a team of designers to enhance creativity and executional excellence.Qualifications Required:- Bachelor or Masters degree in Footwear Design, Industrial Design, or related field.- Minimum 7 years of experience in footwear design, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership position.- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in footwear design and development.- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and basic design tools.- Sound knowledge of footwear construction, materials, and fit.- Experience with trend forecasting platforms and consumer insight tools.- Excellent communication, project management, and team leadership skills.It is preferred that you have previous experience with activewear or sports footwear brands and a strong passion for fitness, fashion, and creating consumer-centric designs.
