Job Description

    As an Account Manager at Avient, your primary focus will be on developing profitable growth by targeting potential customers based on a specialized platform. You will be responsible for forecasting annual objectives for sales, margins, and volume growth. Your role will involve selling at all levels of management, building strong relationships, and ensuring Avient receives priority consideration. You must be able to assist customers in problem-solving, bring energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism to your daily tasks. This position requires you to work independently with minimal oversight, interact effectively at the managerial peer level, and be prepared for up to 75% travel.Key Responsibilities:- Develop profitable revenue growth through robust new business development- Achieve gross margin targets by applying customer-centric selling skills and tools- Establish and close new business targets at designated accounts within the territory- Develop strong relationships with key decision makers and project facilitators- Prospect and cold call potential customers- Manage sales plans, budgets, and expense budgets effectively- Identify opportunities and capture service opportunities at strategic accounts- Stay informed about industry trends, needs, and PolyOnes potential within the targeted industry- Collaborate with regional sales teams and technical areas to accelerate profitable growth- Monitor competition, understand issues and threats, and develop plans to overcome barriers- Implement pricing and market strategies, negotiate customer contracts, and ensure a return on resources invested- Participate in strategy development, define target markets, and contribute to the commercial strategy- Develop written Account Plans for strategic accounts, including defining annualized sales potential- Cultivate new alliances, monitor competitive activity, and maintain CRM data and sales statisticsQualifications Required:- Bachelor of Engineering in Polymer and Chemicals, B.Tech, CIPET, or relevant education- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in sales knowledge of Polymer materials & Solid color master batches- Proficient in tactical sales techniques, strategic selling discipline, and commercial practices- Strong communication skills, customer-centric approach, critical thinking, and negotiation skills- Ability to achieve results with urgency, continuously improve, make courageous decisions, and work effectively in a teamPlease note that this role is an individual contributor position with territory-specific sales revenue and no budget responsibilities.
