Job Description

Job Description:

  • To understand customer needs and targets in order to act as a solution provider.
  • To handle new inquiries, prospect to generate new inquiries as well as interact with existing customers for their repeated machine requirements.
  • Discussions may include business plan for the customer as well as machine related technical exchange with support from parent group in Germany with ultimate goal of client satisfaction and mutual benefit of customer and W&H.
  • Territorial Client Management :
    • Prospecting, meeting known customers and handling enquiries in the assigned territory to achieve complete client satisfaction and providing a complete solution by suggesting suitable equipment.
    • Acquiring knowledge of incoming/planned machines in the territory via market contacts.
    • Building long standing relationship with clients/prospects/EPC to achieve long term success for the organization via visits to their works, telecoms, invitation and subsequent meetings at exhibitions, seminars, conferences, etc.
    • Connecting leads/passing information from other territories/field to the assigned colleague.
    • Maintaining regular inflow of orders.
  • Technical and Sales related knowledge : Acquiring adequate machine and company related knowledge, knowledge about Aventus Portfolio though company/third party organized training sessions, meetings suppliers, customers, seniors in organization, newsletters, magazines, etc.
  • Project Execution and Planning: Project timelines to be maintained and executed by channeling resources and information between customers, internal WHIPL staff and headquarters.
  • Exhibitions/Seminars: Conducting/participating in exhibitions, seminars, conferences to generate enquiries, gather market information, networking, keep updated with upcoming trends, etc.
  • Reporting :
    • Reporting directly to GM Sales & Marketing, directly or indirectly to Managing Director and Foreign colleagues regarding meetings with clients/prospects/suppliers via written/oral communication.
    • Preparing market reports, sales reports, project reports, etc. for internal and external sharing.
  • Competitor Information : Gain awareness about competitions portfolio, sales, service, manufacturing capabilities, tie ups, etc. by gathering information from market, the organization, third party suppliers, etc. in order to effectively counter arguments, claims, etc.
Major Challenges (Sales Responsibilities):
  • Prospecting to find new customers and engage them in project discussions.
  • Preparing necessary material for technical / commercial discussions such as presentations / excel sheets etc.
  • Route information to headquarters.
  • Conduct/attend exhibitions and seminars as a part of marketing effort.
  • Maintaining market intelligence through regular market feedback and contact. Maintain regular contact with customers, suppliers of other related equipments and commodities, consultants and end product users to stay updated to catch opportunities.
  • Preparation of quotations and sending to the customers.
  • Develop and maintaining sales tools and documentation.
Sales Planning:
  • Sales Forecasting.
  • Sales budget planning.
Salary:3 to 6Lakhs/anum for Sales Engineer & 7 to 14 lakhs/annum for Sales Manager.Required qualifications:
  1. Relevant experience in direct sales from 3-15 years depending on the profile (Sales Engineer and Sales Manager.
  2. Bachlors in business or engineering.
  3. Optional masters in business or related field.
Preferable prior knowledge:
  1. Experience in working with a German company is a plus.
  2. Knowing German language is plus.
  3. Knowledge on bag making machineries is preferred.
Special requirements:3-5 years of service agreement with the company.
