Job Description

    As a Sr. Compliance Officer at Jhpiego based in New Delhi, your role involves ensuring internal control processes and systems are adequate to minimize risks. You will be working with various stakeholders to identify risks, assess adequacy of internal control systems, and recommend appropriate measures to reduce associated risks. Your responsibilities include:- Collaborating with Country Director, Snr. Director Compliance, Director Finance, and other senior staff to ensure compliance with donor rules, organizational policies, and relevant laws.- Verifying country programs compliance through technical assistance and spot-checking.- Mitigating risks through active monitoring of country offices practices and procedures.- Developing an annual compliance review work plan based on the project portfolio to ensure full compliance coverage.- Updating senior management on the implementation status of internal compliance recommendations regularly.- Assisting in executing external audits, reviewing findings, and ensuring timely implementation of recommendations.- Conducting and documenting annual Internal Controls over Financial Reporting review and maintaining Internal Financial Controls framework.- Developing best practices for internal controls, training staff, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.- Reviewing policy documents, revising tools, and making recommendations to improve compliance monitoring.- Serving as a member of Internal Compliance Reviews teams and reporting any misconduct or fraudulent activities promptly.- Conducting special investigations and analytical projects, as required.- Handling other special projects assigned by the Country Director and/or Snr. Director Compliance.Qualifications required for this role include:- MBA in a business-related field is mandatory.- Preferred qualifications include a Masters Degree, Qualified Chartered Accountant, and/or Certified Internal Auditor.- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Compliance with international NGOs or 7 years of internal/external audit experience.- Proficiency in Information Technology, computer-assisted audit techniques, and financial systems like QuickBooks Enterprise and/or SAP.- Knowledge of USG donor rules and regulations is essential.Your expertise and experience will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and risk management within Jhpiegos operations.
