Job Description

    Senior Product Manager - Technical
    • Collect and document input from Red Hat OpenStack Platform customers, partners, community members, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs; develop edge strategy and roadmap and go-to-market plans for our offerings
    • Research competitive solutions, both commercial and do-it-yourself alternatives, documenting their relative strengths and weakness to develop competitive positioning and collect input for new releases
    • Prioritize and document requirements, epics, and user stories for new releases of our offerings
    • Guide major enhancements of our offerings by working cross-functionally with core teams across our Engineering team and the upstream open source community
    • Work with the OpenStack Engineering team, RHEL networking Engineering team, and the overall product team to manage releases and updates of our offerings and bring new Red Hat OpenStack Platform solutions to market
    • Work with our Sales teams to respond to customer inquiries, deliver customer presentations and demos, and support the overall sales process
    • Support sales and marketing activities, including creating presentations, blogs, demos, and other technical collateral for our offerings
    • Review and provide feedback on the documentation for our offerings
    What you will bring
    • 5+ years of enterprise software industry experience working in product management, technical marketing, or a similar technical product or customer-facing role
    • Extensive knowledge of Red Hat OpenStack Platform networking and services, including load balancers, routing, DHCP, DNS, software-defined networking (SDN) services for enterprise and telco, OVS, OVN, and integration of third-party plugins
    • Linux skills and extensive experience with OVS hardware flow offloading, DPDK, SR-IOV, and network functions virtualization (NFV) tunables
    • Extensive knowledge of network functions disaggregation, SDN, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Precision Time Protocol (PTP)
    • Bachelors or graduate degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
    • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to collaborate purposefully across broad stakeholders to secure diverse opinions and comprehensive feedback in solving complex problems
    • Willingness to travel up to 25%, following Red Hat s COVID-19 guidelines
    The following are considered a plus:
    • Previous community involvement with Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Kubernetes, KubeVirt, oVirt, Linux, KVM, or other open source projects
    • Knowledge of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) ecosystem of open source solutions
    • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or similar cloud or application management solutions
    • Skills in distributed systems, resource management solutions, storage technologies, enterprise logging, and monitoring solutions
    • Red Hat OpenShift (Kubernetes) on Red Hat OpenStack Platform deployment and integration
