Job Description

The Special Educator position at Saksham Resource Centre in Rohru, Himachal Pradesh, with Saksham Trust, a renowned NGO dedicated to the empowerment of individuals with visual impairments, requires providing tailored educational support to students with visual impairments. As a Special Educator, your responsibilities include delivering daily classroom instruction, developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each child, utilizing assistive tools like Braille slates and screen readers, and conducting teacher orientation workshops. Moreover, you will collaborate with the program team, maintain student records, and organize community awareness sessions to promote inclusive practices. This role demands a Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education, RCI certification, a minimum of 2 years of experience, proficiency in Braille and assistive technologies, strong communication skills in Hindi and English, and a passion for community-based work in rural settings.Preferred qualifications include prior experience in Himachal Pradesh or rural areas and knowledge of the local language. This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule, requiring in-person work at the Resource Centre.,
