Accessibility Engineer in Test

Job Description

As an Accessibility Quality Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for testing and ensuring the quality of major frameworks for an e-Commerce system that is up 24/7 on macOS, iOS, and Web. You will be an authority in accessibility, covering VoiceOver, Smart Invert, Dynamic Type, full keyboard access, color/contrast, and more. The successful candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and will use the newest technology to automate solutions and deliver outcomes across all of Apples innovative products.- Build test plans and develop manual/automated multi-functional tests for Online Store frameworks- Report bugs, assess overall product quality, and ensure accessibility standards are met- Work with Agile team to ensure high-quality delivery for each sprint- Provide leadership in testing, solving, and implementing accessibility features- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and x-functional teams throughout the software lifecycle- Communicate detailed QA status to the team and report any issues in a timely manner- Analyze crash logs, backtraces, and assist engineers with debugging techniquesMinimum Qualifications:- Craft test plans and test cases with detailed knowledge in Accessibility testing- Deep knowledge and direct experience with WCAG guidelines and WAI-ARIA- Strong first-hand experience in testing with assistive technologies, including screen readers such as VoiceOver, JAWS, and NVDA- BS degree in Computer Science or similar field with 5 years of working experience- Proficient in EnglishPreferred Qualifications:- Experience in Quality Engineering, with a focus on e-commerce/web applications- Excellent knowledge of macOS and iOS VoiceOver and other accessibility features- Familiarity with accessibility features on mobile devices- Excellent communication skills, flexibility, cohesion, and clear thinking- Experience managing and integrating test automation into various points in a deployment pipelineApple strives to make the newest technologies accessible for blind, low-vision, hearing-impaired, and motor-impaired users.
