Application Engineering Manager

Role Overview:You will lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. Working closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers, you will use UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. At Corp Eng, you will build world-leading business solutions that scale a more helpful Google for everyone.Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team and serve as its executive technical authority.- Drive engineering delivery through participation in design reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning, ensuring solutions.- Advocate the ServiceNow Center of Excellence (CoE), partner on strategy and roadmap, and build a new capability from the ground-up.- Serve as the teams executive technical authority, guide best practices, and make final architectural decisions.- Recruit, interview, and hire technical talent to build the team.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.- 12 years of experience in software engineering or enterprise application development.- 5 years of experience in managing engineers.- Experience with ServiceNow platform including SPM/PPM/CSM applications, Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and platform scripting (e.g., JavaScript, GlideAPIs).- Experience with reviewing codes and configurations, and contributing to architectural decisions.- Experience in managing implementation partners or professional services vendors.Additional Details:As Googles IT organization, you will provide end-to-end solutions for organizations across Google, delivering the right tools, platforms, and experiences for all Googlers as they create more helpful products and services for everyone.
