Job Description

Role Overview:As an AVP Wholesale Credit at HSBCs Wholesale Credit Approval function, your primary responsibility will be to analyze new and existing counterparties in the Commercial Banking Segment of HBCA. You will play a crucial role in approving or recommending lending positions within appropriate delegated credit authority. Working closely with various teams within WCRM and HBCA, you will contribute towards building a sound quality asset portfolio and a robust credit culture to meet customer needs effectively.Key Responsibilities:- Analyze new and existing counterparties in the Commercial Banking Segment of HBCA and approve/recommend lending positions within delegated credit authority.- Work collaboratively with colleagues within WCRM CoE, WCRM HBCA, and HBCA Commercial Banking Relationship teams to reach solutions on credit proposals.- Participate in credit/risk meetings with Front Office/HBCA WCRM colleagues and escalate risk events to management promptly.- Prepare for audit, regulatory initiatives, and internal projects related to credit risk management.- Represent WCRM CoE in Shared Services and New Business initiatives as required.- Provide guidance and training to new joiners in the offshore HBCA team.- Maintain flexibility to travel, if necessary.Qualifications Required:- University degree in commerce/economics/management/engineering. MBA-Finance or equivalent/CA/ICWA/CS/CAIIB/CFA etc. will be preferred.- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in handling Large/Mid Corporate/SME Credit in a reputed Bank/Financial Institution.- Strong understanding of credit lending products and financial statement analysis.- Excellent analytical and technical skills to identify and mitigate risk issues.- Strong communication skills and ability to lead discussions in credit approval forums involving senior stakeholders.- Customer-centric mindset and resilience to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Additional Company Details:At HSBC, we are committed to creating a workplace where all employees are valued, respected, and their opinions count.
