Business Consultant - Big Data Platform Services

Job Description

Role Overview:At CIBC India, as a Business Consultant in the Big Data Platform Services (BDPS) Team, you will act as a liaison between business/other CIBC technology teams and the Big Data Delivery team (Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) & Enterprise Data Gateway (EDGE)). Your primary responsibilities will include leading requirement gathering sessions, providing expertise to project managers, updating leadership on status, coordinating with peer technology groups for seamless delivery, orchestrating complex data mapping, and contributing to key initiatives like EDH to EDGE migration and data lake development for business users.Key Responsibilities:- Gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements by working closely with business partners.- Lead and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure alignment with project needs.- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders by asking insightful questions to clarify needs.- Conduct research and current state analysis to support future state capabilities.- Collaborate with technology partners to design solutions meeting business requirements.- Prepare and validate solution design documents, including scope clarification, requirements, and quality assurance.- Manage and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, providing updates to project managers and leadership teams.- Serve as the primary point of contact between business units and the Big Data Delivery team.- Analyze and understand data using tools such as SQL, Excel, HUE (Hadoop), and Databricks SQL.- Lead data mapping and profiling activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness within data delivery processes.- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging big data technologies.Qualifications Required:- Minimum 5 years of experience as a business consultant, leading multiple projects and designing solutions.- Strong ability to elicit requirements and write clear, comprehensive documentation.- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and organizational abilities.- Experience in Enterprise Data Foundation (EDF).- 2 years experience with Jira.- Experience working in waterfall frameworks.- Client-focused, driven by delivering the right solutions.- Enjoy investigating and making sense of complex information.- Values teamwork, collaboration, and accountability.- Strong influencing skills and ability to build effective relationships.
