As a Strategic Procurement Manager at our leading client, a US major diversified Industrial Company with a technology partnership to the global steel, energy, and railway sector across 32 countries, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the procurement lifecycle to drive optimal value for the business.Key Responsibilities:- Utilize expertise in category buying, service agreement finalization, and equipment leasing/renting to support operational and strategic objectives with a focus on engineering and industry experience.- Demonstrate proficiency in strategic procurement, contract management, negotiation, and financial analysis related to equipment leasing and renting.- Engage in activities such as imports, working with freight forwarders, CHA agents, customs clearance, and logistics to ensure smooth procurement processes.- Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments and data-driven decision-making to optimize procurement strategies.- Ensure compliance with safety and statutory regulations while managing risks, defining commercial terms, and driving business value.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with organizational needs.- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes by implementing innovative solutions for better efficiency and cost-effectiveness and leveraging digital tools and analytics.Qualifications Required:- More than 15 years of experience in procurement roles.- Educational qualifications of BE/B. Tech; any post-graduation is preferred.- Strong knowledge of commercial instruments like bank guarantees and Letters of Credit.- Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and PowerPoint.- Advanced analytical skills.In this role, you will lead the finalization of all category buying and service agreements, assess economic feasibility, propose cost-saving initiatives, and optimize operational budgets in alignment with business goals. Additionally, you will use historical data analysis, forecasting, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments to make strategic procurement decisions and ensure regulatory, safety, and statutory compliance in all procurement processes.Furthermore, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts with secure terms, mitigating risks, resolving post-Purchase Order (PO) disputes, driving continuous improvement in procurement processes, and collaborating with site buyers and strategy team members to enhance overall performance.Lastly, you will also oversee the review and tracking of managed spend/BPA/CPAs, prepare and submit monthly MIS reports, and track delivery performance to ensure vendor compliance with organizational standards and expectations.
