Job Description

    Role Overview:At CIBC India, as a Level 9 Corporate Function Compliance Officer, your role will involve serving as a subject matter expert and independent advisor on regulatory compliance matters for CIBCs businesses in India. You will be responsible for overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements, monitoring changes in the regulatory landscape, assessing compliance risks, and supporting the implementation of the Regulatory Compliance Management program. This individual contributor role will focus on providing expert guidance, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring effective regulatory compliance controls are in place.Key Responsibilities:- Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Independently oversee assigned corporate functions to ensure compliance with Indian and global regulatory requirements and internal policies.- Regulatory Landscape Analysis: Continuously monitor the Indian regulatory landscape for new or amended regulations relevant to CIBCs operations in India.- Process and Control Optimization: Collaborate with business units to update policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with regulatory requirements.- Relationship Management and Advisory: Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to business units in India on regulatory compliance matters.- Governance and Reporting: Prepare reports on compliance risk assessments, control effectiveness, deficiencies, and remediation status for management and governance committees.- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to execute the Regulatory Compliance Management program and participate in special projects related to compliance and risk management.Qualification Required:- University degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field; advanced degree or professional designation (e.g., CPA, CAMS, CRCM) is an asset.- 7 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, legal, audit, or governance roles within the financial services industry.- Extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance management, risk assessment, and control methodologies.- Strong communication skills, analytical abilities, critical thinking, and attention to detail.- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements and manage multiple priorities effectively.Additional Company Details:At CIBC India, you will be part of a culture that values excellence, investment in people, and progress.
