Job Description

Role Overview:As a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect with at least 18 years of experience in Data engineering and Analytics, you will be joining our team at Blackbaud. Your primary responsibility as a senior principal data architect will be to design, create, deploy, and manage Blackbauds data architecture. Your role will have significant technical influence within the Data Platform, Data Engineering teams, and the Data Intelligence Center of Excellence at Blackbaud. You will also act as an evangelist for proper data strategy within the organization and assist with the technical direction, specifically concerning data, for other projects.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and direct the strategy for all aspects of Blackbauds Data and Analytics platforms, products, and services.- Set, communicate, and facilitate technical direction more broadly for the AI Center of Excellence and beyond.- Design and develop innovative products, services, or technological advancements in the Data Intelligence space to enhance the business.- Collaborate with product management to create technical solutions that address customer business challenges.- Own and enforce technical data governance practices to ensure data sovereignty, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.- Challenge traditional approaches and explore new ways of working.- Establish a data access strategy to securely democratize data for research, modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence work.- Assist in defining tools and pipeline patterns for data transformation and analytics support.- Collaborate in cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data architecture solutions.- Ensure data solutions are designed for performance, scalability, and reliability.- Provide mentorship to junior data architects and team members.- Stay updated on technology trends such as distributed computing, big data concepts, and architecture.- Advocate internally for the transformative power of data within Blackbaud.Qualifications Required:- 18 years of experience in data and advanced analytics.- Minimum 8 years of experience working with data technologies in Azure/AWS.- Expertise in SQL and Python.- Proficiency in SQL Server, Azure Data Services, and other Microsoft data technologies.- Familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric.- Strong grasp of data modeling, data warehousing, data lakes, data mesh, and data products.- Experience with machine learning.- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.Additional details of the company:The company has one opening available for the position of Data Architect.
