ITSM Service Asset & Configuration Manager

Job Description

Role Overview:As a Service Asset and Configuration Manager (SACM) at PwC, your main responsibility will be to manage an organizations IT assets and configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle. This includes planning, monitoring, and reporting on the configuration of IT assets and CIs, ensuring they are properly identified, tracked, and maintained. You will be responsible for governing and managing IT Service Assets and Configuration Items (CIs) across the SAP landscape to support stable SAP operations and service management.Key Responsibilities:- Own and manage the Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) process in line with ITIL Service Transition practices.- Define and maintain SACM policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.- Ensure all IT assets and CIs are uniquely identified, classified, and controlled throughout their lifecycle.- Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).- Manage SAP-related assets and CIs including SAP applications, systems, clients, interfaces, jobs, transports, and technical components.- Define CI relationships and dependencies across SAP and non-SAP systems.- Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets including hardware, software, and cloud-based SAP assets.- Support Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) for SAP and infrastructure components.- Establish and monitor CMDB quality standards, perform regular audits, reconciliations, and health checks.- Ensure tight integration between SACM and ITIL processes including Incident & Major Incident Management, Problem Management, Change & Release Management.- Support internal and external audits, ensure proper access controls for CMDB updates, maintain audit trails for configuration changes.- Develop and maintain SACM dashboards and reports, provide actionable insights to IT leadership and SAP service owners.- Manage and optimize SACM processes using tools like ServiceNow CMDB, integrate CMDB with SAP Solution Manager, leverage discovery and normalization tools.- Identify and implement opportunities to improve asset tracking and configuration accuracy, drive automation of CI discovery and updates.- Promote SACM best practices and awareness across teams.Qualifications Required:Mandatory:- 612 years of experience in IT Service Asset & Configuration Management.- Strong experience managing SACM for SAP environments.- Deep understanding of ITIL SACM / Service Transition practices.- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB or equivalent.- Strong analytical, governance, and data quality management skills.Preferred / Recommended Certifications:- ITIL Intermediate Service Transition.- Software Asset Management (SAM) certification.- Hardware Asset Management (HAM) certification.- ITIL v3 / ITIL 4 certification.Good to Have:- SAP BASIS or SAP Technical background.- Experience in large SAP AMS or global delivery models.- Exposure to regulated environments (SOX, GxP).- Experience with SAP cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
