Job Description

As a Software Testing Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:- Designing and developing automation/performance solutions that adhere to organizational standards, ensuring the creation of reliable, reusable, and maintainable automated regression suites and test harnesses.- Creating tools and frameworks with high-quality code to simplify testing scenarios.- Developing test plans and test cases based on functional and design specifications, executing test cases, and analyzing and reporting test results to the teams.- Collaborating with development teams to ensure timely delivery of business functionality with the required quality that meets acceptance criteria.- Acting as a test lead, demonstrating strong testing skills to guide and support project staff.- Reviewing and approving the work of project team members, ensuring best practices are followed and testing activities remain on schedule.- Focusing on building efficient testing solutions for Web, Services/APIs, and Database requirements.- Participating in internal/cross-team meetings, project scoping, functional reviews, test specifications, and technical reviews in an Agile environment.- Contributing to requirements and architecture/design reviews, emphasizing test automation/performance strategy and best practices.- Actively participating in functional, system, and regression testing activities.- Collecting quality assurance data and metrics to derive insights and conclusions.- Estimating and conducting risk analysis for quality delivery.- Advocating for Agile methodologies.Qualifications required for this role:- 4 years of software testing experience across all testing phases including test planning, execution, and closure for API, DB, and UI layers.- Strong understanding of QA and testing methodologies, along with best practices.- Minimum 4 years of experience as an Automation QA Tester.- Proficiency in creating, maintaining, and executing automation tests using tools like Selenium (Python essential).- Experience with Agile processes, with Scrum being preferred.- Familiarity with REST services, SOA architecture, and knowledge of OData and SOAP.- Experience in creating and maintaining automation frameworks is a plus.- Exposure to DevOps pipelines in a containerized environment using Azure DevOps/Jenkins.- Proficiency in complex SQL for database querying.- Expertise in DB processes, data validation, transformation logics, and data migration.- Knowledge of file storage in S3, data validation with clob, blob, and messaging systems like Kafka and JMS.- Familiarity with automation in applications built on Angular JS and Spread JS.- Experience with distributed source control systems like Git.- Knowledge of test data management techniques.- Understanding of Function as a Service, Container as a Service, and Data Virtualization (Denodo).- Proficiency with change management and defect tracking tools.- Familiarity with Defect Triage process and corrective action tracking.- Eagerness to become a domain expert and learn new technologies.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.- Commitment to maintaining high levels of confidentiality and handling sensitive information with integrity and trust.- Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure and experience in testing microservices, containers, and Dockers.Minimum and Preferred Education:- Bachelors or higher qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent is preferred.Minimum and Preferred Experience/Skills:- 4 years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree or higher qualification.
