Mainframe CICS System Programmer Subject Matter Expert

Job Description

As a Mainframe CICS System Programmer at Kyndryl, you will be responsible for solving complex problems and proactively identifying potential future issues across various platforms and services. Your role will involve working with cutting-edge technology and engaging with some of the worlds largest clients. On a daily basis, you will manage systems data, deliver innovative solutions, ensure security compliance, and prioritize tickets to enhance the overall client experience.To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:- Engineer with a minimum of 9 years of experience in CICS systems programming.- Proficiency in z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM, and third-party products.- Hands-on experience with CICS transaction server and related ISV products.- Expertise in providing technical support during planning, coordination, installation, implementation, and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to CICS and related ISV products.- Ability to upgrade/install and migrate CICS transaction servers.- Skilled in diagnosing CICS system and related product issues, and conducting root-cause analysis.- Competent in upgrading/installing and supporting IBM & ISV related products, with proficiency in P2V, V2V, and P2P migrations.Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:- Bachelors degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.- Experience in the banking or financial services industry.- Knowledge of Assembler, COBOL, CICS, and DB2.- Strong ability to work independently as well as part of a team.- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation with the engineering teams.- Capacity to see a project through to completion or collaborate within a larger team on complex projects.At Kyndryl, diversity is integral to our identity and culture.
