Principal Engineer I, BI & Analytics

Job Description

Role Overview:As an asset manager at Invesco, your primary responsibility is to create and deploy visually appealing and highly interactive Microsoft Power BI based dashboards. You will work closely with Business Analysts to analyze data and reporting requirements, understand business needs, recommend the best metrics and visualizations, and collaborate with other functions within Business Intelligence. Your role will involve working in an agile development environment, handling multiple requests from stakeholders, demonstrating an innovative mindset, and ensuring timely completion of products with attention to detail.Key Responsibilities:- Develop Power BI reports that are user-friendly, easy to understand, and visually impactful- Utilize native data analysis features of Power BI to translate data into insights and highlight actionable KPIs- Create UI/UX and design language for various Business/Technology reporting themes- Implement design principles to maintain consistent look and feel across dashboards- Translate business requirements into documented navigation flows and wireframes- Ensure reporting interface is simplistic and self-explanatory for clear communication with Business Partners- Incorporate the latest features and updates of Power BI for optimal performance- Implement row-level security and manage access to reports and workspaces- Collaborate with Business Analysts to review and prioritize requirementsQualifications Required:- Minimum 8 years of experience in BI development environment- Three plus years of experience with Microsoft BI Stack- At least five years of Power BI development experience- Comprehensive design experience with knowledge of common design tools- Proficiency in writing complex DAX statements and utilizing R for data manipulation- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel- Familiarity with SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Power Apps, and writing T-SQL queries- Understanding of data risks and impact on business- Ability to extract data from multiple sources using Power BI gateways and M scriptingCompany Details:Invesco is a leading independent global investment firm dedicated to delivering distinctive investment management capabilities to clients worldwide.
