Senior Manager - Strategic Planning and Operations

Job Description

As a Strategic Planning & Operations Senior Manager at Amgens Center for Observational Research (CfOR), your primary focus will be on project management and operations support in the Asia-Pacific region and CfOR-wide initiatives. You will play a crucial role in developing collaborative relationships with internal partners to meet business needs, managing a team of operations professionals, and ensuring the successful execution of various projects. Your responsibilities will include:- Developing strong collaborative relationships with internal partners to support business needs, including cross-functional project management and operational support- Managing and developing a team of operations professionals focused on business processes such as metrics and reporting, contracting and budgets, project management, regulatory document processes, and knowledge management- Developing detailed project plans, facilitating team meetings, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring adherence to workflow processes- Tracking the progress of projects, including milestones, action items, and resolving issues- Capturing lessons learned and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiencies- Advancing the use of productivity tools in the organization, such as Teams, Copilot, ChatGPT, MS Power Automate, Smartsheet, and Miro- Serving in various capacities, including supporting the Operations Head, leading special projects, conducting analyses, and creating deliverables as neededBasic Qualifications:- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership, supervisory, or people management role- Doctorate degree and 2 years of research and program management experience, OR- Masters degree and 6 years of research and program management experience, OR- Bachelors degree and 8 years of related experience, OR- Associate degree and 10 years of related experience, OR- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of related experiencePreferred Qualifications:- A minimum of 10 years of project management experience, preferably at least 5 within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry- Demonstrated self-starter, ability to work under limited supervision, coordinate multiple projects, and operate in a detail-oriented and regulated environment- Strong ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees, fostering a high-performance culture- Ability to align team goals with organizational strategy and drive continuous improvement- Excellent written, analytical, and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively- Experience with critically evaluating processes and establishing innovative solutions- Understanding of drug commercialization and business practices- Experience facilitating discussions and promoting collaboration across multiple parties- High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Miro, and Smartsheet- Review and proofreading experience of scientific/technical documentationAs a Senior Level Strategic Planning & Operations Senior Manager, you will play a critical role in driving the success of observational research initiatives at Amgens CfOR.
