Job Description

    Role Overview:As the Talent Sourcing Lead (India) at Toptal, your primary responsibility will be to design and execute the talent acquisition strategy across the Indian subcontinent. This role goes beyond traditional recruiting as you will act as a market expert, attracting top-tier developers and specialists while effectively engaging with them. Additionally, you will lead the sourcing engine and represent Toptal as a client-facing ambassador, showcasing the strength of the Indian talent pool to clients.Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Pipeline Development: Create and implement sourcing strategies to attract high-caliber freelance talent in software engineering, product, and design.- Market Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on the Indian labor market, including knowledge of salary benchmarks, trending tech stacks, and regional talent hubs such as Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Gurgaon, and Pune.- Client Engagement: Collaborate with global clients to understand their technical needs and translate them into localized sourcing profiles. Participate in client meetings to advocate for Toptals talent matching process.- Cultural Alignment: Uphold global standards while navigating local cultural nuances during screening and onboarding processes.- Data-Driven Optimization: Track and improve key sourcing metrics, including pipeline volume, quality, and conversion rates.- Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate competitive rates with talent while ensuring alignment with client contractual obligations.Qualifications & Requirements:- Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in Full Cycle IT Recruitment, including Direct Talent Sourcing within the Indian Tech/Professional Services Sector. Proficiency in client interaction and aligning talent acquisition with client needs is essential.- Location: Based in India; Hyderabad location is preferred.- Freelance Opportunity: Eligible candidates must be able to work as a freelancer in India.- Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of Indias academic institutions (IITs, NITs, BITS, IIMs), Tier-1 tech firms, and the startup ecosystem.- Client-Facing Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities are required, with comfort engaging with CTOs and VPs of Engineering at Fortune 500 companies.Additional Details (if available): Toptal offers a base salary of USD 15/hr along with significant performance-based bonuses tied to successful onboarding of high-quality talent by the client, up to USD 50 per hire. The role provides remote flexibility with the opportunity to work from home and periodic in-person client meetings (once or twice a month).
