Senior Software Engineer - Embedded System

Job Description

As a Software Development Engineer at Medtronic, you will play a crucial role in developing software for new and existing medical device products. Your responsibilities will include:- Collaborating with global R&D teams for software development, including creating Software Unit Test & Integration plans.- Designing and developing embedded real-time systems and creating/refining requirements, software designs, and test plans.- Participating in design reviews, code inspections, and other quality assurance functions required for FDA device approval.- Working effectively within geographically dispersed and cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.- Developing a test automation framework and test scripts.- Being responsive, flexible, proactive in communication, and comfortable with technical leadership in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.- Meeting key business KPI/project metrics.Qualifications required for this role:- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, or equivalent from a reputed institution.- 8 to 10 years of experience in Embedded Software development, with at least 2 years in the Medical device/Medical IT or highly regulated industry.- Extensive experience in embedded Software design and development using advanced C, strong knowledge of Object-Oriented concepts and Operating Systems internals.- Experience with low-level drivers, interrupt service routines, RTOS, multi-threading, IPC, GUI applications, and software automation test frameworks.- Proficiency in structured software development environments following Agile/Lean methodologies.- Experience with software and system risk analysis per ISO 14971.Nice to have qualifications:- Knowledge of Data Sciences/IoT, excellent coding and analytical skills, ability to handle competing priorities, and maintain high energy levels.In addition to the technical responsibilities, you may also be involved in the following activities and duties:- Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and implements operating systems components, software tools, and utilities.- Determines systems software design requirements and ensures successful system improvements implementation.- Generates systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures.At Medtronic, we offer a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package, as we value our employees contributions and recognize their role in the companys success.
