Job Description

As a Staff Software Engineer specializing in SQL DB Admin at CDK Global, you will be responsible for utilizing your highly specialized expertise to lead cross-functional project teams. Your role will involve solving a variety of highly complex problems within your function and providing unique thought leadership in evaluating issues. You will be guided by long-term business unit goals and objectives, determining approaches to projects across the business unit and providing specialized technical guidance to others. Additionally, you will partner with functional leadership to influence priorities and objectives, provide technical expertise to peers in other functions, and network with others in multiple functions. It is essential to follow all CDK Global policies and procedures, complete all mandatory compliance tasks and acknowledgements, and meet or exceed all performance expectations.Key Responsibilities:- Requires highly specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise within own function- Leads cross-functional project teams and solves highly complex problems- Provides unique thought leadership in evaluating issues- Determines objectives and approaches to projects across the business unit- Mentors and provides specialized technical guidance to others- Partners with functional leadership to influence priorities and objectives- Provides technical expertise to peers in other functions- Networks with others in multiple functions- Follows all CDK Global policies and procedures- Completes all mandatory assigned compliance tasks and acknowledgements- Meets or exceeds all performance expectationsQualifications:- Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field with at least 8 years of experience, or a masters degree with at least 6 years of experience; OR in lieu of a bachelors degree at least 10 years of experience- Programming and design experience with a proven track record of delivering products in production- Ability to lead design for complex projects- Ability to technically document software deliverables through use cases, design documents, and technical specifications- Proficient with test-driven development and web template technologies- Experience utilizing Agile and Scrum software development methodologies- Ability to document, track, and monitor a problem/issue to a timely resolution- Ability to design components for scale, performance, and experience- Knowledge of operating systems- Self-motivated and collaborative problem-solving ability- Action-oriented and results-focused- Strong influencing skills; strong verbal and written communication skills along with prioritization of duties- Ability to work independently/in a team environment- Proficiency with Microsoft OfficeAt CDK Global, inclusion and diversity are fundamental in inspiring meaningful connections to our people, customers, and communities.
