Role Overview:The Apple Customer Systems Operations team is seeking a talented OPS Engineer (Operations Engineer) to join their operations team. As an OPS Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability, availability, and performance of globally distributed business-critical systems. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing automation solutions to enhance system sustenance, monitoring, and operational workflows. Collaboration with support and engineering teams will be a key aspect of this role.Key Responsibilities:- Manage incident response, capacity planning, deployment safety, and operational tooling- Utilize strong software engineering skills to ensure operational excellence in a fast-paced environment- Lead SEV1/SEV2 incident bridges, conduct blameless postmortems, and drive problem management initiatives- Implement production support practices for large-scale web and iOS applications in a 24x7 model- Troubleshoot issues, analyze logs, develop metrics, and create operational dashboards- Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of distributed systems and Linux operating system internalsQualifications Required:- Minimum of 4 years of working experience- Strong knowledge and experience in incident management- Proficiency in handling large-scale web and iOS applications in a 24x7 model- Familiarity with troubleshooting, log analysis, metrics building, and operational dashboards- Understanding of distributed systems and Linux operating system internalsAdditional Details:The preferred qualifications for this role include experience in leading global operations teams, expertise in observability and monitoring tools, foundations in networking, hands-on engineering background with various technologies, proficiency in supporting scalable architectures, automation skills with Python/Linux, experience in AI/ML for operational automation, and familiarity with ITSM frameworks and enterprise support practices.Join Apples Customer Systems Operations team and be part of a dynamic environment where your passion and dedication can lead to impactful contributions and continuous improvement.
