Software Quality Engineer II

Job Description

As a member of the market-leading, innovative Edge platform team at NCR Voyix, you will play a crucial role in pushing the boundaries of technology and providing top-notch solutions to our Customers. Your responsibilities will include test automation and manual testing, collaborating with development teams to ensure high-quality QA output, and implementing effective automated tests. You will also be involved in documenting manual test cases and enhancing the in-house automation framework to achieve faster automation and ensure the highest quality solutions. Your proactive approach towards maximizing automation opportunities and working with various innovative technologies will be key to your success in this role.**Key Responsibilities:**- Automate tests using homegrown and/or open-source test frameworks.- Act as an ambassador of quality, striving for the release of high-quality software solutions.- Define and develop test scenarios and acceptance tests.- Manage defects and collaborate with a global quality team to ensure system reliability.- Maintain Linux systems and troubleshoot IT and networking issues efficiently.- Deploy and upkeep virtual and physical environments.- Conduct root cause analysis of functional and non-functional defects utilizing engineering principles and data analysis.- Work closely with development teams to produce and implement robust tests.- Document and report test results.- Assess release readiness.- Adapt quickly to new technologies, applying new skills to enhance system processes and performance.**Core Skills (Must have):**- Bachelors degree in Engineering and 3 to 6 years of testing experience in an enterprise environment.- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).- Strong foundation in Linux, IT, and networking.- Eagerness to learn and apply new skills.- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and in a global team.- Proficient in test automation.- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.- Problem-solving skills and ability to identify improvement opportunities independently.- Extensive experience in test automation of complex enterprise applications.- Good understanding of software architecture with the ability to provide recommendations for non-functional testing initiatives.**Additional Preferred Skills (Good To Have):**- ISTQB Software Testing qualification.- Working knowledge of GIT and Bash.- Experience with Python, especially PyTest / UnitTest.- Experience in testing K8s native software.- Proficiency in Golang Programming.- Exposure to cloud computing, ideally GCP.Please note that offers of employment are subject to the passage of screening criteria relevant to the job role.EEO Statement: NCR Voyix is an equal opportunity employer.Statement to Third Party Agencies: NCR Voyix accepts resumes only from agencies on the preferred supplier list.
