Job Description

    • Oversee and manage the safe and efficient operations of the companys fleet of vessels
    • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, industry standards, and company policies
    • Coordinate vessel inspections, audits, and surveys to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
    • Develop and implement operational procedures and guidelines to enhance safety, environmental protection, and efficiency in vessel operations
    • Monitor vessel performance, including fuel consumption, voyage planning, and maintenance activities, and provide recommendations for optimization
    • Conduct regular assessments of the competency and proficiency of vessel crew members, and coordinate training programs as needed
    • Collaborate with shipyards and contractors for vessel repairs, maintenance, and dry-docking activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines
    • Manage and analyze operational data, including incident reports, near misses, and performance indicators, to identify trends and implement corrective actions
    • Support the procurement and inspection of marine equipment, spare parts, and supplies to ensure availability and compliance with quality standards
    • Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities, classification societies, and flag state administrations to ensure compliance and maintain necessary certifications
    • Monitor and implement changes in international maritime regulations and industry guidelines, and communicate relevant updates to the fleet and internal stakeholders
    • Provide technical expertise and support for vessel upgrades, modifications, and new vessel construction projects
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marine engineering, logistics, and safety departments, to optimize vessel operations and ensure effective communication and coordination
    • Participate in incident investigations and provide recommendations for prevention and improvement
    Requirements
    • Bachelors degree in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, or a related field
    • Relevant seafaring experience, preferably in a senior officer or captain position
    • In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices
    • Familiarity with vessel types and operations, including cargo vessels, tankers, or offshore support vessels
    • Strong understanding of safety management systems, risk assessment, and incident investigation
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively interact with vessel crews, contractors, and internal stakeholders
    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve operational challenges
    • Familiarity with marine maintenance and repair procedures, including dry-docking and class surveys
    • Proficiency in using marine software and systems for voyage planning, fleet management, and performance analysis
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic maritime environment
    • Willingness to travel to vessels and shipyards as required
