If you are ready to join an international company with talent around the world and want to make a real impact, we want you on our team.What Youll Do:As a Design Transfer Engineer - Medical Devices, you would be responsible for providing technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing group. Additionally, you would also be working on improving existing processes, developing new and cost-effective manufacturing concepts, as well as training production operators and engaging maintenance personnel in resolving equipment problems using systematic methods of troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and irreversible corrective action implementation. You would be assigned to support any and all functions of the manufacturing areas.What Were Looking For (Responsibilities / Accountabilities):

  • Provide technical assistance, process development, and engineering support to the manufacturing floor. This includes Extrusion, Secondary Operations, and packaging areas to ensure timely delivery of product and meeting customer expectations on cost and quality.
  • Support flawless launch of new product activities through active participation in FMEA, part and tool design reviews, Kaizen, and other cross-functional team events.
  • Execute validation and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocols for new product, equipment, tooling, and processes.
  • Develop new and cost-effective manufacturing concepts. Lead scrap reduction teams through lean methodologies. Actively participate in value improvement projects.
  • Provide technical evidence and responses to customer service/customers as required.
  • Mentor extrusion technicians and engage maintenance personnel in resolving tooling and equipment problems using systematic methods of troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and irreversible corrective action implementation.
  • Follow SOP on re-validation of existing equipment, tooling, and processes.
  • Work closely with internal and external Engineers in developing processes that meet customer expectations on cost, quality, and delivery of new product development.
  • Document lessons learned and report status of all projects and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Generate, update, and implement process documentation, to include PCOs, work instructions, manufacturing procedures, sample requests, process, inspection, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Close assigned CAPAs in a timely manner.
  • Complete project and report status in a timely manner. Utilize project management tools in establishing timelines, building action item lists, and completing milestones.
Skills That Make a Difference:
  • Plastic processing degree or diploma
  • Thermoplastics extrusion, molding, and/or assembly process (strongly preferred).
  • Experience in extrusion or molding process design
  • AutoCAD or other design software experience preferred
  • Exposure to Root Cause Analysis
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (strongly preferred)
  • Lean Manufacturing (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent (written and verbal) communication and effective human interaction skills.
  • Flexible to change, and possess a high degree level of integrity and can do attitude.
  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
