There is a large focus on innovation, inclusion, giving back to the community and sharing knowledge.Department profile:Morgan Stanley Investment Management Technology (MSIM-IT) strives to provide a technology platform that helps the business deliver outstanding long-term investment performance, service and a comprehensive suite of investment management solutions to a diverse client base, which includes governments, institutions, corporations and individuals worldwide.Position Overview:The MSIM - IT team is looking for a a strong .Net & Web (Angular 2 ) developer to join the team that is responsible for the following platforms:*A Counterparty reference data system that serves as a central platform to store all Investment Management legal entity information and their hierarchy. Closely integrated with Front Office trading system to provide brokers regulatory, financial, risk parameters, required by trading & risk application in their day to day activity.* Derivatives data analytics engine - A one stop shop for Everything Derivatives starting from Market registration, Clearing to trade(CTT) flows to transactional activities like Trading volume, payment and exposure data, analytics platform for higher management.The developer will get involved in the design, development, and testing of multi-tier systems and components across the above platforms.Strong interpersonal skills and good team spirit is required in addition to proficiency in verbal and written business communication. This job demands strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple priorities. As part of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing a body of knowledge that is accessible to all team members. We support what we build - you will also be responsible for post-production L3 support.QualificationsThe right candidate Has in-depth understanding of the full software development life cycle. Deep familiarity with modern software development and design concepts encompassing a range of languages and platforms. Can own small to medium scale strategic initiatives/projects, enhances process standards and best practices and supports L3 issues for currently live systems. Understands business needs and priorities, and provides thought leadership on potential solutions and the opportunities for technology to create positive impact on the business. Has excellent analytical and problem solving skills that are coupled with strong communication, anticipates issues and deals with them proactively. Nimble, adaptable, able to express ideas in meetings & design discussions, comfortable with ambiguity; course correct when circumstances change.Required Experience: 4 yearsSkill Set:Primary skillsWe are looking for a passionate technologist whos ready to learn & experiment with a wide range of technologies. Ideal candidate will have: Must have an experience of 4 years in developing RESTful services in ASP.NET Deep knowledge in developing highly interactive web applications using Angular2 , with minimum experience of 2 years in development. Strong problem solving skills with ability to analyse and understand data. Strong programming fundamentals. Hands-on experience with SQL. Should be able to demonstrate clear understanding of OOPs in practice. Ability to forge strong relationships and coordinate effectively with multiple parties. Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Experience working in a virtual or global team.Good to have skills Javascript, Ajax, DOM, HTML5, CSS3, Highcharts and GIT. Exposure to index based services like ElasticSearch etc. Understanding of Agile SDLC principle.
