Job Description

  • Basic & Detail Design Engineering activities for Ethanol Projects & its packages (Balance of the plant) in accordance with the established procedures.
  • Hands-on Experience in development of process design basis of the plant, process schemes, project philosophy, parameters including exposure to Commissioning, troubleshooting, Operations of minimum 150 KL Sized Ethanol Plants (Preferably Grain based).
  • Experience in independently preparations & review of PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment sizing, project specific specifications, design calculation / analysis, procurement specification etc.
  • Process Design & Detail Engineering including performing process simulations, design calculations, Process Optimization, sizing & selection of equipment etc.
  • Review of tender documents, Technical Bid Analysis, specifications, datasheets, verification of FEED design & calculations submitted by PMC & other EPC Contractor.
  • Preparation & review of various engineering deliverables such as Process datasheets (PDS) of equipment & Instruments, Equipment Specifications, Overall & streamwise Heat & Mass balance, control logic, Technical Proposals, Material selection Diagrams, Equipment list.
  • Preparation & review of Ethanol Plant Cause & Effect Diagrams, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, operation manuals, Participations in HAZOP study & resolving / closing experts queries, Participations in FAT & SAT and providing necessary inputs.
  • Capable to take decision & resolve on process queries of EPC/ Process plant vendors.
  • Preparation, review & approval of Factory Plot Plan/ SLP in accordance with process & material flow, statutory requirements, optimization of footprint & Civil work etc.
  • Preparation, review & approval of Elevations and Layout drawings of all the process sections & packages.
  • Review of 3D Model of all the process sections, packages & all the pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Hazardous area classifications, applicable codes, standards, regulations, local requirements related to the Ethanol plant.
  • Experience in preparations & review of Hydraulic Calculations, Control Valve Calculation/ sizing, Safety Relief Loads, Utilities, Effluent summaries, Plant chemicals.
  • Integration of main Ethanol process plant & all the packages (ISBL & OSBL) including CO-GEN plant.
  • Balancing & distribution of Steam and Electrical power.
  • Review & approval of Joint Protocol for Commissioning (JPC), Pre-commissioning & commissioning Bar chart with defined testing processes/checklists.
  • Software proficiency: AutoCAD, HTRI, CHEMCAD etc.
  • Technical Assessment of the Ethanol Plants. Experience of technical audit of the existing Ethanol plants.
  • Review of Drawings, QAPs and other technical documents.
  • Periodic visits/ deputation at Vendors office/ works for various engineering review meetings, expediting engineering & procurement progress etc.
  • Periodic site visit to mentor and advise site team for providing technical inputs required.
  • Responsible for providing the process engineering support to project manager to ensure that the project will deliver the required benefits.
  • Preparing proposals for modifications of facilities, control & safety schemes, and process operating parameters to enhance safety, reliability and process performance.
  • Reviewing and clearing punch list raised based on walkdowns, close-out report.
  • Performance test run (PTR), ensure acceptable formal plant asset handovers to the operations and successful on time project completion.
Graduation in Chemical Engineering.Locations: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
