Azure Data Platform Owner - Manager

Job Description

As the Azure Data Platform Owner, your primary responsibility is to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of the data platform. You will lead a team of data engineers to deliver high-quality, reusable, and secure data solutions that cater to various business functions. Your role involves bridging technology, operations, and delivery to help the business derive value from data.**Key Responsibilities:**- Manage and evolve the Azure data platform (Databricks, Data Factory, ADLS, Azure SQL, etc.) to meet enterprise data and analytics requirements.- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in developing data pipelines, integrations, and reusable assets.- Ensure platform management, including access control, performance optimization, and cost management.- Oversee day-to-day platform operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.- Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Architect to align platform design with architectural standards and future roadmap.- Partner with business stakeholders to enable data solutions while ensuring quality, security, and compliance.- Drive automation, best practices, and continuous improvement across the data engineering team and platform.**Qualifications Required:**- 8 years of overall IT, data engineering/platform experience, with at least 2-3 years in a team management or platform/product owner role.- Extensive expertise in Cloud/Azure Data Services (Databricks, Data Factory, ADLS, Azure SQL, Synapse).- Proven experience in building and managing large-scale data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.- Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and governance practices.- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of data engineers.- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve technical issues quickly.- Knowledge of cost optimization and resource management within Azure.- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop, work in a culture known for respectful interaction, ethical behavior, and integrity, see your ideas realized, and make an impact.
