Cost Engineer I

Job Description

Role Overview:As a Cost Engineer at Vanderlande, you will be responsible for supporting pricing consulting and maintaining the pricing system using the Computer Aided Pricing (CAP) database. Your main tasks will involve reviewing cost levels of existing CAP records, proposing costs for new records, and operating the FACTON EPC Cost Management Software.Key Responsibilities:- Support Relocation activities including making business cases to assess cost impact and tracking estimated product costs in relocation projects- Set targets for sourcing and suppliers, contribute to the realization of targets, and define and maintain cost drivers in the CAP database- Calculate and motivate updates of CAP unit prices based on cost drivers using the FACTON EPC Cost Management Software- Monitor CAP versus actual costs, take corrective actions if necessary, and analyze cost trends across projects- Collaborate with various departments such as Strategic Sourcing, R&D, Engineering, Sales, and Global Sourcing- Participate in reporting activities by setting up reference projects for benchmarking purposes and reporting cost trends for raw materials, equipment, categories, or reference projectsQualification Required:- Bachelors degree in engineering (e.g. Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering)- Minimum 6 to 10 years of experience with Manufacturing and Supply Chain processes- Excellent communication skills in English (speaking, reading, and writing)- Hands-on knowledge with Cost Management Software (FACTON EPC) and Microsoft Office- Knowledge of ERP systems (JD Edwards), PLM systems (Enovia), and basic databases and data analytics- Experience in the material handling industry is an added advantageAbout the Company:Vanderlande is a market-leading global partner for logistic process automation in various sectors.
