Job Description

    Role Overview:As the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Operations at an esteemed company in Pune, India, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of operational processes, focusing on Reconciliations production and compliance with regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include overseeing operational teams, streamlining processes, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks. You will manage day-to-day activities in the Reconciliation function and serve as a People Manager with strong Subject Matter Expertise to address queries from team members and stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:- Lead overall day-to-day deliveries for the reconciliations function- Review workflows and key operating procedures to ensure they are up to date- Review reconciliation reports and maintain consistent green KPIs for each process line, investigating breaches as needed- Drive KRIs (Control metrics) to manage risk effectively and foster a robust control environment- Ensure processes align directly with the Recon Target Operating Model (TOM) highlighting any deviations- Act as a subject matter expert to resolve all incoming queries, including complex or escalated queries- Monitor and resolve operational issues related to reconciliations- Establish optimal operations teams and deliver better Capacity utilization model by creating synergies between processes- Act as a key point of contact for escalations and issue resolution- Liaise with external stakeholders and internal teams such as compliance, legal, and technology to ensure smooth operations- Implement a robust risk identification and control framework and promote a risk and compliance aware culture- Drive innovation programs for continuous improvement and efficiency in operational processes- Develop and motivate the team through engagement models, effective communication, and reward & recognition- Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior management- Monitor KPIs and KRIs to assess operational effectiveness and provide insights for decision-making- Support team members in investigating Cash and Position breaks and manage their queries and escalations- Ensure proper back-ups are created and assist other teams during contingencies- Manage team performance focusing on skill development and adherence to Bank Policies and ProceduresQualification Required:- 10-15 years of work experience with at least 8 years in team management- Prior experience in Reconciliation of Cash & Positions across Investment and Accounting Book of Records against Custodians- Knowledge of Aladdin, Bloomberg, and Security and Trade Life Cycle of financial products- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, operational risk management, and compliance- Graduates/Masters with excellent academic records- Strong communication and collaboration skillsAdditional Company Details:- The company values high-performance culture through effective knowledge sharing and talent retention- Emphasis on process improvement, team development, and innovation- Opportunity to work in a global and cross-cultural environment- Strong people management skills and focus on skill development(Note: The additional company details section is omitted as there were no specific details mentioned in the job description.)
