Role Overview:As a Systems Engineer at Nokia ONBU, you will be responsible for representing the Business Unit in various standards bodies. Your primary role will involve driving and defending Nokias preferred solutions within these forums. In addition, you will interact with customers, competitors, and other participants to promote Nokias solutions, with a specific focus on TAPI IETF/ACTN, Open Config, and Open ROADM standards, particularly in terms of manageability and operations.Key Responsibilities:- Possess a Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or computer science.- Have 9 to 15 years of experience in the telecom industry, specializing in Optics technologies.- Demonstrate proficiency in Network Management Systems, networking concepts, and related technologies.- Engage in hands-on experience encompassing problem definition, solution design, and interface development.- Exhibit expertise in Object Modelling, abstraction, and a deep understanding of Optical Transport concepts, technologies, and protocols.- Configure and/or design Network Management Systems within carrier networks.- Showcase proficiency in scripting/programming using Python and Java.Qualifications Required:- Effective communication skills.- Proficiency in English language.- Ability to lead and guide teams of engineers.- In-depth knowledge of Optics domain, specifically L0 (Photonic) and L1 (Digital, Time Division Multiplexing) technologies.- Significant understanding of ITU-T and IETF base models for Optical transport, Open Config, Open ROADM, TAPI, and IETF/ACTN domain models.- Familiarity with UML modeling tools and YANG Tools, with the ability to edit and publish standards.- Capability to adapt to new tools and interpret standard definitions into functional product specifications.- Lead and educate team members in domain, design, and architecture.- Contribute to functional vision and strategy resulting from standardization considerations.- Interact with key customers and senior experts on standardization-related topics.- Participate in aligning membership issues in Nokia and influencing standard/Open-source policies regionally.(Note: The additional details of the company were not included in the provided Job Description.)
