Senior Data Engineer/Senior Staff Engineer

Job Description

Role Overview:You will be taking on a technology lead role in the Global Market Data Department at StoneX, where you will collaborate with other technology leads to deliver market data projects. As a senior member, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing components within the cloud data platform for both ongoing operations and new projects.Key Responsibilities:- Individually contribute and lead a deliverable, defining project scope with attention to detail in data and technical aspects.- Understand system protocols, data flows, and emerging technology tools, contributing to the design and implementation of data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.- Engage with other team leads to implement a data management program with a focus on innovation and enablement.- Define key data domains and attributes to standardize the data model for improved data quality across the enterprise.- Play the role of a solution architect, designing technical solutions for complex business problems and troubleshooting production issues.- Oversee the day-to-day operations of junior data team members and participate in scrum and sprint rituals.Qualifications:- 5 years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Production Support in large enterprises.- 3 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or Software Development in the capital markets/trading industry.- Strong understanding of Enterprise architecture patterns, Object-Oriented & Service-Oriented principles, design patterns, and industry best practices.- Experience leading a small team of technical performers is desired.- Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of C# and PySpark.- Experience with Azure Databricks is desired.- Proficiency in database technologies like MSSQL, Postgres, MySQL, and key-value/document databases like MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra.- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with business stakeholders to extract critical concepts.- Ability to work and lead in an Agile methodology environment.- Working knowledge of emerging generative AI technology is desired.
