As a Senior Data R&D Engineer at Cerence AI, you will be part of a global leader in AI for transportation, focused on creating AI and voice-powered companions for various vehicles. With a customer-centric, collaborative, and fast-paced culture, Cerence AI offers continuous opportunities for learning and development.**Role Overview:**You will join the Data Team within the Speech Input Division, responsible for the data backend of speech recognition, NLU, and AI models. Your primary role will involve ensuring that the systems are consistently aware of named entities from various sources such as artists, music, or movies. You will work on extracting content from databases, writing web scrapers and spiders, and developing research tools. Additionally, you will be involved in testing and monitoring the teams infrastructure.**Key Responsibilities:**- Text processing in multiple languages- Extracting content from databases- Implementing CI/CD for data pipelines- Writing web scrapers and spiders- Developing research tools- Testing and monitoring the teams infrastructure**Qualifications Required:**- MSc / MTech in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (BSc / BTech candidates with excellent credentials will be considered)- Minimum 5 years of work experience with at least 2 years utilizing Python- Proficiency in scripting with Python, especially using the Pandas library- Familiarity with JavaScript, Spark/Pyspark, Unix/Linux, and querying large databases in SQL, RDF, or similar- Excellent written and spoken English- Comfortable working in an international, distributed team- Preferred skills include experience with Elasticsearch, Data Visualization, cloud computing infrastructure, text data parsing, data mining, data versioning tools, orchestration frameworks, text encoding, and background in natural language understanding, data science, or speech recognition- Knowledge of multiple languages, including Indian languages, is a plusCerence Inc., a global industry leader, offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including annual bonus opportunities, insurance coverage, paid time off, company contributions to retirement savings plans, equity awards, and remote/hybrid work options.
