Software Engineer (Java)

Job Description

You will be working as a JAVA Specialist at Amdocs where you will be tackling problems of diverse scope and utilizing your strong knowledge in Java technologies and debugging skills. Your key responsibilities will include:- Expert-level Java knowledge and debugging.- Porting code from other technologies to keep Java libraries in sync.- Extending runtime Java libraries with new functionality.- Working in both Java and C# (50%-50%).- Creating custom plugins in Java for existing tools.- Delivering high-quality work within project scope.- Mentoring junior team members on Mainframe migration.- Learning Astadia Factory tools for mainframe transformations.- Extending existing conversion tools.- Utilizing SQL development skills.- Understanding and maintaining database objects.- Tuning queries and managing database locking.- Having experience with mainframe application technologies will be a plus.- Experience in Scripts/Python development will be advantageous.All you need to qualify for this role is:- BE in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.- 5 years of Development professional experience in Java.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Knowledge of Java 8, 17, and 21.- Interest in learning legacy technologies.- In-depth understanding of Java OO concepts.- Experience in unit testing, test-driven development, integration testing, and deployment using cloud technologies.- Certifications in any cloud technologies.- Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile Development Methodologies.In this role, you will be challenged to design and develop new software applications and have the opportunity to work in a growing organization with continuous personal growth opportunities.
