As an experienced Java developer with 5 to 8 years of experience, you will be responsible for various key roles and responsibilities in the development and integration of Kafka-based systems. Your main tasks will involve:- Developing Kafka producers and consumers based on predefined canonical event models.- Supporting phased cutovers for key domains such as Card, Merchant, and Site Management.- Building secure integration adapters using Vault for tokenization and PCI-compliant encryption.- Executing data migration scripts, environment migrations, and PROD validation activities.- Managing bulk entitlement loads, handling operational escalations, and supporting release deployments.- Collaborating closely with the Engineering and Middleware teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.- Following established CI/CD, observability, and security standards.In this role, you will work with a technical environment that includes:- Event Streaming: Kafka (Aiven)- Security: Vault, PCI-compliant encryption- Integration: REST APIs, Outbox Pattern, SI Dev / Middleware- Downstream Systems: RDW, ODS, WOLNG, PSOFT, Fleet Services, EV Mesh- Tools & Languages: JAVA, SQL scripts, bulk loaders, CI/CD pipelines- Cloud & Containers: Java/ microservices, Kubernetes/ECS- Monitoring: Grafana, KibanaTo excel in this position, you should possess the following skills and experience:- Hands-on experience with Kafka, REST APIs, and event-driven systems.- Proficiency in SQL, scripting, and data migration workflows.- Familiarity with Vault or similar secret management tools.- Working knowledge of containerized microservices (Java) and CI/CD automation.- Exposure to Grafana/Kibana or equivalent observability tools.Additionally, your ability to work independently within a governed engineering framework will be crucial for success in this role.
