Technical Leader - Platform Automation

Job Description

Role Overview:You will be joining Rockwell Automation as a Technical Leader to drive the Platform Automation and Developer Experience practice. Your primary responsibility will be to work with multiple Development teams to enhance the long-term architecture, provisioning, monitoring, and enrichment of Development Environments. Your objective is to improve the Developer Experience through Platform Automation.Key Responsibilities:- Lead and build a team focused on automating technology and compute platform components to improve the experience of Rockwells Developers.- Develop and execute a strategy to enhance the developer experience organization-wide, including enabling infrastructure services for remote work.- Ensure that stream/product aligned teams can work autonomously.- Create and promote a shared service for CI/CD pipeline platform components to streamline development workflows and automate lower environment provisioning.- Collaborate with Development teams to establish a self-service library of platform components and repeatable CI/CD pipelines.- Work with Security and Infrastructure teams to support lower environments that enhance Developer experience and protect Rockwells Intellectual Property.- Drive automation culture at Platform layers and incorporate observability into build chains and environments.- Establish and maintain a library of versioned Platform components and orchestration scripts.- Define and standardize test cases in CI/CD pipelines for the correct use of Platform Components and other related criteria.- Monitor Platform products to gauge developer satisfaction and productivity.- Keep abreast of the latest developer tools, platforms, and methodologies and advocate for developer-friendly practices.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors degree in software engineering, MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.- 8 years experience leading systems or platform development teams.- Proficiency in modern software architectures and managing underlying platforms.- 4 years experience leading DevSecOps teams and supporting CI/CD pipelines in large organizations.- Familiarity with Continuous Delivery practices and Agile/SAFe methodologies.- Ability to lead diverse teams towards common solutions.- Strong skills in creating Technical Roadmaps and improving developer experience.- Deep understanding of successful platform components, their architecture, and lifecycle.- Experience with innovation in platform automation and IDPs.Note: Additional details about the company were not provided in the Job Description.
