Transportation Planner 4

Job Description

As a Transportation Planner/Modeler Grade 4 at CDM Smith, you will be responsible for preparing basic studies for transportation projects in Middle East and USA, analyzing transportation-related data, performing traffic studies, developing traffic models and simulations, and collaborating with Highway Design and CAD teams. You will work under light supervision in the Traffic and Transportation Planning team at the Bangalore, India Global Resource Center office.- Compile and analyze data including demographic, land use, traffic counts, and travel speeds- Conduct capacity analysis for intersections and roadways using software- Write basic scripts for data analysis- Prepare and analyze relevant land use data for modeling work- Conduct demand modeling tasks for traffic impact and corridor studies- Perform traffic simulation tasks for projects- Develop engineering calculations and maps- Identify and evaluate mitigation measures or project alternatives- Collaborate with design teams on traffic-related issues- Travel to CDM Smith offices in the Middle East as required- Masters Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering- 8 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation modeling- Experience in traffic software such as PTV VISSIM, SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA- Experience in demand modeling software like PTV VISUM and/or TRANSCAD- Proficiency in MicroStation, Microsoft Office software, and applying HCM procedures in traffic studies- Knowledge of traffic engineering and transportation planning principles- Moderate scripting and programming skills in R, Python, Basic, or other languages- Effective oral and written communication skillsPlease note that CDM Smith reserves the right to conduct background checks and drug testing for designated positions.
