Job Description

Job Title: Plant Head (DGM/GM)Location: Chakan, PuneExperience: 18 years in  Automotive Manufacturing CompanyEducation: Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical/Automobile/Production Engineering or a related fieldAbout Company: Its a family-owned group company, commenced operations in 1976. Today, It operates 11 independent manufacturing plants across Pune (Maharashtra), Pithampur (Madhya Pradesh), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), and Hosur (Tamil Nadu). It has evolved into a system supplier capable of designing, developing, and manufacturing components, assemblies, and modules for the automotive industry.Job Summary: The Plant Head (DGM/GM) will be responsible for overseeing the entire plant operations, ensuring smooth production activities, maintaining high-quality standards, and effectively meeting customer delivery schedules. The role demands strategic planning, leadership, and operational efficiency to optimize productivity while adhering to safety, compliance, and company objectives.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant Operations Management: Oversee end-to-end plant operations, including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions.
  • Production Planning & Execution: Ensure effective production planning and execution to meet monthly customer schedules. Optimize manpower, machinery, and material usage.
  • Process Improvement & Cost Optimization: Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards, ISO/TS/IATF guidelines, and regulatory compliance. Work closely with the quality team to address issues and maintain high-quality production.
  • People Management & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the plant team to drive performance, resolve conflicts, and develop a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Customer Coordination: Act as the key liaison between the company and customers to ensure timely deliveries and effective communication regarding production schedules and quality requirements.
  • Safety & EHS Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental health & safety (EHS) standards.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure availability of raw materials and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage plant budgets, control operational costs, and ensure profitability.
  • Technology & Automation Implementation: Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Expertise in automotive manufacturing processes and industry best practices
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and supply chain coordination
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, production monitoring tools, and automation technologies
