Job Description

    As a Senior Data Engineer specializing in Azure/Snowflake Migration, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable data pipelines utilizing Snowflake as the primary data platform. Your role will involve integrating with tools like Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and various AWS services to build robust and efficient SQL and Python-based data transformations for cleansing, enrichment, and integration of large-scale datasets.A key aspect of your responsibilities will be leading migration initiatives from AWS-based data platforms to a Snowflake-centered architecture. This includes tasks such as rebuilding AWS Glue pipelines in Azure Data Factory, migrating EMR Spark jobs to Snowflake SQL or Python-based pipelines, and transitioning S3-based data lakes to Snowflake external tables via ADLS Gen2 or Azure Blob Storage.Furthermore, you will be involved in supporting database migrations from AWS RDS to Snowflake, focusing on schema translation, compatibility handling, and data movement at scale. Your expertise will be crucial in designing modern Snowflake lakehouse-style architectures that incorporate raw, staging, and curated zones with advanced features like time travel, cloning, zero-copy restore, and data sharing.In addition, you will be required to implement security best practices by integrating Azure Key Vault and Snowflake role-based access control, data masking, and network policies. Optimizing Snowflake performance and costs using clustering, multi-cluster warehouses, materialized views, and result caching will also be part of your responsibilities.To excel in this role, you should possess 7 years of data engineering experience, with at least 3 years on the Microsoft Azure stack and hands-on expertise with Snowflake. Proficiency in Python for scripting and ETL orchestration, SQL for complex data transformations in Snowflake, and Azure Data Factory and Synapse Analytics is essential. Experience in migrating workloads from AWS to Azure/Snowflake, along with a strong understanding of cloud architecture and hybrid data environments across AWS and Azure, will be beneficial.Preferred qualifications for this role include extensive experience with Snowflake Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, external tables, and data sharing, as well as exposure to MSK-to-Event Hubs migration and streaming data integration into Snowflake. Familiarity with Terraform or ARM templates for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) in Azure environments and relevant certifications such as SnowPro Core or Azure Data Engineer Associate are also desirable.Your skills in AWS, Azure Data Lake, and Python will be instrumental in successfully fulfilling the requirements of this Senior Data Engineer position focused on Azure/Snowflake Migration.,
